Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson - born Jacqueline Luesby to Chris Watson and Jacqueline Luesby, two British lawyers - was born on the 8th of July, 1989 in Paris. When she was just five, she moved to Oxfordshire and enrolled at her first Dragon School. Emma was only six when she decided she wanted to become an actress. She trained for several years at Stagecoach Theatre Arts, a Part-time theatre school located in Oxford where she studied acting as well as singing. Her performances had been in several Stagecoach or school shows before she was 10 years old. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) the 2001 film adaptation to J.K. Rowling's bestselling British novel was published in 1999. Casting agents discovered Emma by way of her Oxford theatre teacher. David Heyman told Emma along together with Rupert Grint, Daniel Radcliffe after they all had eight straight auditions. The release of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001) was Emma's debut on the screen in cinema. It also was the film that was most popular of 2001. Opening weekday and weekend the sales were record breaking. Critics have praised both the film as well as the performance of the three principal young actors. The Daily Telegraph, an important British paper, called Emma's performances "amazing". Emma received five awards for her performance in the movie.
